As this war winds down, The Hugs Project went looking for new focus. It was important to us that we continue to assist our returning Troops and Military in a vital way. What we found was the Patriot Clinic. They are using an effective therapy for Post Traumatic Stress (PTSd) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).
If you are interested in how this process works to heal the “hidden wounds” of war, please join our Facebook group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/HBOT for TBI or email The Hugs Lady through our contact us page.
Anyone can have a brain injury. Anyone can have PTSd.
America has an epidemic among returning Troops, Active Duty and Veterans….a suicide epidemic. We are losing 22-25 American Military people each day by their own hand. We believe this is not because of a “disorder” and that PTSd is misnamed. Returned Military members often suffer from brain injuries caused by insult or actual injury and so they should be classified as wounded not mental. Any wound can and will heal if given the right treatment. You can’t mask wounds with pharmaceutical drugs. When you try, they don’t go away but rather are merely masked and they often become more severe. One side affect of drugs is suicidal ideation. Drugs clearly are not effective.
Five forward-thinking states have already voted to give their Veterans this level of care – Oklahoma unanimously passed SB 1604 in April 2014 (http://www.ok.gov/odva/documents/SB1604.pdf) Texas recently passed similar legislation with H.B. No. 271.
We need everyone who loves our Military and Veterans to donate what they can in order to get them the treatment they need as quickly as possible. The high suicide rates remind us that our troops don’t have time to wait. Please send your tax-deductible donation to:
